Welcome to the Division of Vascular Surgery at McGill University—an academic community devoted to excellence in education, research, and patient care.

The McGill Vascular Surgery Residency Program is a fully accredited five-year direct-entry training program under the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. We aim to develop exceptional vascular surgeons who combine technical proficiency with a commitment to surgical excellence, clinical leadership, research, innovation, and patient-centered care. Our environment nurtures critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and continuous academic growth.

Our graduates are thoroughly prepared to diagnose and manage the complete spectrum of vascular disease using both open and endovascular techniques, while making meaningful contributions to advance our specialty.

Residents primarily train at two major institutions: the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and the Jewish General Hospital (JGH). These high-volume academic centers provide comprehensive exposure to the full spectrum of vascular pathology, advanced technologies, and interdisciplinary approaches to care. Both sites are integral to resident education, faculty mentorship, and program development, offering tailored support to help residents reach their professional aspirations.

Our residency program consistently attracts outstanding candidates from across Canada who develop into leaders in vascular surgery. We take pride in our trainees and graduates and remain committed to fostering a collaborative, supportive, and intellectually stimulating learning environment.

The Division of Vascular Surgery is an integral part of the McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, contributing actively to its mission of academic leadership and innovation in healthcare. We provide educational experiences for Canadian medical students through mentorship, hands-on clinical exposure, and research opportunities. Students interested in vascular surgery are encouraged to complete electives at our training sites to experience our dynamic and supportive environment firsthand.

We welcome your interest in vascular surgery and invite you to contact us to learn more about our program.
