![]() RESEARCH DIRECTOR RJ Doonan, MD, PhD, FRCSC Robert J. Doonan, MD, PhD, FRCSCAssistant Professor and Vascular Surgeon McGill University Health Centre T: (514) 843-1524 | The surgeons within the Division of Vascular Surgery at McGill University participate in and lead a vast array of research studies. The research within the division is primarily clinical but does also involve basic science and engineering. We actively engage in Canadian and international multi-centre studies including randomized controlled trials and industry sponsored trials. Active peer-reviewed funding randomized controlled trials include STABLE-AD and a randomized controlled trial of prehabilitation in open aneurysm patients, initiated at McGill University. Our division researchers have significant interests in complex aortic outcomes, prehabilitation, predicting carotid plaque instability, aortic dissection treatment and outcomes, peripheral arterial disease, surgical simulation, and surgical education. We also have significant interests in research and application of new technologies and have performed several first-in-man or first-in-Canada procedures/implantations. Our research team contains a full-time research associate, two full-time clinical research coordinators, and several MSc/PhD students at any given time. We are always looking for new research avenues and collaborations. If you are interested in participating in research within the division of vascular surgery please reach out to Dr. R.J. Doonan at robert.doonan [at] mcgill.ca (robert[dot]doonan[at]mcgill[dot]ca). |
